I am a comparative physiologist who studies marine mammal physiology and ecology using a diverse array of technologies to better quantify impacts on wild marine mammal populations. Currently I am a postdoctoral researcher at Duke University, focusing on developing tag-based estimates of energy expenditure for toothed whales. I use experimental trials with trained cetaceans in zoological facilities, in order to assess disturbance impacts of human activities in wild populations.
